Back on topic:

I think establishing a joint academy with a MLS team would be perfect. Its not only good for Ajax as a brand, but maybe we can learn something of them aswell.

American soccer may not be on the same level yet, but if theres one thing WE can learn from them is being persistent, and do anything to get the job done.

A practical solution would be to bring our knowledge to America, and in return get a foothold ons that market as well as increasing the net value of merchandising.

One ore two things we can learn for sure from the Americans:

- creating top sport climate
- winners mentality
- modern up to date approach of trainig excercise
- team effort
- medical staff

the main issue (right now) is:
Will the Ajax-method cath on at De Toekomst ?

As long as we take over the winners mentality of the Americans and certainly NOT take over the whole entertainment, commercial, advertising thing, it is al fine by me.

It looks like the Ajax-method will be a huge success in the US, they love to sue your ass over there.

Triple facepalm

I think the Ajax methods can be a resounding succes in the USA. The idea of training youth while educating them is embedded in the US school system. Look at American Football and Basketball. those sports float on the enormous pool of school teams, with and without scholarships. Such a system fits the Ajax way of training very well, at least for the outside factors that need to be taken into account.

This system if course in place today as well, but football plays a secondary role in the US. Even the US term for football says it all. Soccer. The correct English name for football is Association Football and yet a choice is made to call it soccer because in the US American Football is dubbed football already. Now, I don't really care for names, but it shows the secondary importance of football in the US like no other.

Back on topic though, the Ajax system would fit the US perfectly because it's already in place basically through the school and college system. Now if football gains a more important role in the America sports scene the proper support can be offered to lift the MLS to level it can potentially have, e.g. one of the strongest comepitions in the world.
